Our Why

Since 2014, we have raised funds to support local initiatives in the name of a larger-than-life man, JW.

Who was JW?

Jeff Wallace was a husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, son, friend, co-worker, and coach (to name a few). He held four things close to his heart:

  1. Family (including dogs),

  2. Friends,

  3. his Harley, and

  4. Sports.

Chances are that if you have ever spoken with Jeff, he would have brought up one of these items. And, when he did, there would be a spark in his eye, and a grin on his face.

Jeff also enjoyed golf. He was a big hitter, with a decent short game.  One of his favorite things to say after a long, booming drive was: "Got both cheeks into that one." Hence the name of the longest drive contest. Jeff was not an avid golfer, but if you played with him, you would not have guessed it.

Jeff had gotten both of his children, Dylan and Chelsea, interested in golf at young ages by participating in the Junior Day at the Country Club.  Jeff passed away at the young age of 52 in November 2013. After Jeff passed away, his children began the Jeff Wallace Memorial Trust, a 501(c)(3) organization, and they, along with extended family, started this annual event to bring you to the same course to honor Jeff’s memory.
